30th September, Current Affairs:

• Vijayadashami is celebrated today with joy.
• Five new Governors are appointed for the states of Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. BD Mishra has been appointed as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh. Satya Pal Malik appointed as the Governor of Bihar, Jagdish Mukhi appointed as the Governor of Assam, Banwarilal Purohit as the Governor of Tamil Nadu and Ganga Prasad appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya.
• Bollywood actor Tom Alter died at the age of 67 in Mumbai. Tom Alter had acted in over 300 movies and numerous TV shows.

29th September, Current Affairs:

• 22 were killed and over 30 seriously injured in a rush-hour stampede at Elphinstone Station in Mumbai.

27th September, Current Affairs:

• World Tourism Day 2017 is celebrated today.
• Kandla Port Trust situated on the Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat, is renamed as Deendayal Port Trust.
• In the global competitiveness index report published by World Economic Forum, India has been ranked as the 40th most competitive economy in the World. Switzerland topped the list followed by the US and Singapore in second and third places, respectively.

25th September, Current Affairs:

• PM Modi today announced the "Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Ghar Yojana - Saubhagya" for electrification of households across the country by March 2019.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appointed a five-member Economic Advisory Council headed by NITI Aayog member Bibek Debroy to provide economic advise.
• Bharat Ratna Prof C.N.R. Rao has won the Von Hippel Award. He is the first Asian to be chosen for the honour. This is the highest international prize in materials research.

• Amit V Masurkar directed film "Newton" will be India's official entry to the Oscars for next year.
• India's first ingenuously built INS Kalavari submarine handed over to Indian Navy by state-owned Mazagon Dock Limited in Mumbai.
• India's first electric bus service launched at Rohtang Pass area in Himachal Pradesh.

21st September, Current Affairs:

• Kuldeep Yadav became the third Indian after Kapil Dev and Chetan Sharma to take hat-trick in ODIs.

• More than 200 dead after an earthquake of 7.1 magnitude strikes Mexico.

17th September, Current Affairs:

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates world's second biggest dam the "Sardar Sarovar dam". It has been constructed on the river Narmada. The 1.2-km-long dam, which is 163 metres deep, will irrigate over 18 lakh hectares in Gujarat.
• Sleeping Time in reserved coaches cut by an hour for train passengers in India. Now Passengers in the reserved coaches can only sleep between 10 pm and 6 am.
• PV Sindhu beat world champion Nozomi Okuhara of Japan by 22-20, 11-21, 20-18 to win the women's singles title at the Korea Open Superseries. She is the first Indian to win the Korea Open.

14th September, Current Affairs:

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe lay the foundation of India's first bullet train project in Ahmedabad.
• National Hindi divas is celebrated today.
• The International Olympic Committee formally announced that the 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris, while Los Angeles will host the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

13th September, Current Affairs:

• Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived in Indian on two day official visits.
• India's first advanced Homoeopathy Virology lab is inaugurated in Kolkata.

• Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman flagged off the all-women team of the ‘Navika Sagar Parikrama’ in Panaji, Goa. This is the first-ever Indian circumnavigation of the globe by an all-women crew.

• Sloane Stephens of US wins the US Open Women's final by 6-0, 6-3 against Madison Keys. Sloane Stephens became the first unseeded player to win the US Open since 2009.
• Rafael Nadal of Spain wins his third US Open after victory over South Africa's Kevin Anderson by 6-3 6-3 6-4 in the final of the US Open Men's Single title.

• The International Literacy Day is observed today.
• Andhra Pradesh signed MoU to implement India's first Hyperloop project which will connect Vijaywada and Amravati.
• Waltherus Marijne named as the chief coach of the Indian men's Hockey team.

• The world’s most powerful X-ray laser has begun operating at Hamburg, Germany. The machine, called the European X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL), acts as a high-speed camera that can capture images of individual atoms in a few millionths of a billionth of a second.
• Roelant Oltmans sacked as head coach of India men's hockey team.
