IBPS SO (Specialist Officer) Bank Exams

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous body which conduct IBPS SO exam for various post like I.T. Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer. The exam is conducted every year. It is an online examination conducted in two phases - Preliminary and Main. IBPS has received mandate from the organisations like Allahabad Bank,Canara Bank,Indian Bank,Syndicate Bank,Andhra Bank,Central Bank of India,Indian Overseas Bank,UCO Bank,Bank of Baroda,Corporation Bank,Oriental Bank of Commerce,Union Bank of India,Bank of India,Dena Bank,Punjab National Bank,United Bank of India,Bank of Maharashtra,IDBI Bank,Punjab & Sind Bank,Vijaya Bank to conduct the recruitment process once a year. Any eligible candidate, who aspires to join any of the Participating Organisations listed at (A) as one of the Specialist Officers’ post, is required to register for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP SPL-VIII). Interviews are conducted by the participating organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each state or Union Territories. Selected candidates appointed to one of the Participating Organisations keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, administrative convenience, etc.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

A candidate must be either a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan or a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India. Also a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible to apply if some prerequisite conditions are fulfilled.

Candidate should not below 20 years and not above 30 years as on stipulated date.

Preliminary Examination:

The IBPS SO exam pattern for Rajsabha Adhikari Scale I and Law Officer is same.  The Exam Pattern for all the other posts is different from the exam pattern of Law Officer and Rajsabha Adhikari Officer.

 There are penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score

INTERVIEW:

Candidates who are selected in the Main Examination are subsequently invited for an Interview which is conducted by the Participating Organisations. This is coordinated by the Nodal Banks in each State and Union Territories with the help of IBPS. The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

Candidates who qualify both in the Main Examination and interview are shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process.
