Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) Exams

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is one of oldest and premier Insurance group in India. It is an Indian state-owned insurance group. The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) conducts online examination for the Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) post whenever vacancies are there. It is a 2 hours online objective exam which is followed by an Interview and medical examination before final appointment for qualified candidates. Before joining as a Probationer, candidates will be required to give an undertaking to serve LIC for a minimum period of four years from the date of joining (including probationary period) failing which, he/she or his /her heirs, executors, administrators will be liable to pay liquidated damages of Rs.200,000/-only (Rupees Two Lakhs only). Once appointed a AAO have to work under Probation period for One year which is extendable up to 2 years.

Eligibility Conditions:

For the Post of Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO), a candidate age should not be less than 21 years and not more than 30 years at the time of application. There is a relaxation of upper age limit for other categories as below:

Educational Qualification:

A candidate must have minimum a bachelor degree from any recognized Indian University or Institution.

How to Apply:

Candidates have to apply online only through the LIC official website. No other modes of application are accepted.

Application Fees:

All payments are made on online basis only. Candidates will have to make the payment of Application Fees/Intimation Charges through the On-Line Mode.

Selection Procedure:

For the post of AAO, selection are be made on the basis of performance in the on-line Examination followed by a personal interview of short listed candidates and subsequent Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination. Online examination is conducted in selected exam centres throughout India. Candidates have to select their exam center at the time of application.

On-line Examination:

The On-line examination is of objective type which consists of 160 questions for 300 total marks. Candidates have total time of 120 minutes (2 hrs) duration to complete the examination.

There is a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question, one fourth (1/4) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted if a wrong answer has been given by the candidate to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank there will be no penalty for that question.

Also candidates must pass in each Section separately and should also obtain minimum marks in the aggregate to qualify for the interview. English Language test is of qualifying nature and the marks in English Language will not be counted for ranking.

LIC also conduct pre-exam training for OBC/SC/ST candidates. The training is free of cost but the other expenses like travelling, accommodation if required etc. will have to pay by themselves.

Interview:

About three times the number of vacancies to be filled in subject to availability of successful candidates in the online examination is invited for the interview. Candidates will have to obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the interview as will be decided by LIC.

Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination:

Final candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in online examination and Interview. Shortlisted candidates will have to undergo a Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination and if found medically fit, will be offered appointment for the post of AAO.
