27th February, Current Affairs:

• Voting conducted in States of Meghalaya and Nagaland across 59 Assembly constituencies each, where more than 34 lakh electors will choose their new representatives from among 552 candidates.
• Australia have lifted the Women's ICC T20 World Cup Trophy for the sixth time. In the Final match today, they defeated South Africa by 19 runs at Newlands, Cricket Ground in Cape Town.

24th February, Current Affairs:

• After the approval of the home affairs ministry, the names of the cities Aurangabad and Osmanabad have been renamed as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and Dharashiv respectively.
• United States President Joe Biden has nominated former Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga to become president of the World Bank.

23rd February, Current Affairs:

• Biswa Bhusan Harichandan took oath as the ninth governor of Chhattisgarh at a function in the Raj Bhawan in capital Raipur. Gulab Chand Kataria was sworn in as the 31st Governor of Assam.
• President Droupadi Murmu presents Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowships and Akademi Awards for the year 2019, 2020 and 2021 at a function in New Delhi.

21st February, Current Affairs:

• Indian shooter Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil won the gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle individual event at the ongoing ISSF Shooting World Cup at Cairo in Egypt.
• The 76th British Academy Film Awards, BAFTA Awards, were announced at an event held in London’s Royal Festival Hall. Justin Butler won the Best Leading Actor Award for his portrayal of Elvis, and Cate Blanchett won the Best Leading Actress Award for her performance in TÁR.
• International Mother Language Day is celebrated today.

• Saurashtra defeated Bengal by 9 wickets to lift the Ranji Trophy title for the second time in their history.
• Virat Kohli became the fastest batter to 25,000 international runs during the second Test against Australia in Delhi. Kohli reached the landmark in 549 international matches, going past Sachin Tendulkar (34,437), who achieved the feat in 577 innings.

• Tata group-owned Air India announced that it will buy a total of 470 aircraft from aviation majors Airbus and Boeing. The deal is Boeing's third biggest sale in terms of order.
• A state of emergency was declared in New Zealand as residents struggled to deal with the devastation left by Cyclone Gabriel.
• India claimed the top spot in the latest ICC men’s Test ranking, making it the number-one team across all formats.

Now, Governor of Jharkhand Ramesh Bais will be the new Governor of Maharashtra, while Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brigadier (Dr.) B.D. Mishra has been appointed as the new Lt. Governor of Ladakh. Eleven other states' Governor and Lt. Governor also has been reshuffled.

• President Droupadi Murmu today appointed five new Judges to Supreme Court after the Centre cleared the proposal by the Collegium.
• Padma Bhushan awardee Vani Jairam was found dead at her residence in Chennai. She was known for recording over 10,000 songs in her career.
• Today is the World Cancer Day. It is observed on the 4th of February every year to create awareness on cancer as a public health issue.

1st February, Current Affairs:

• Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today presented the Union Budget for financial year 2023-24. The government made income of up to Rs 3 lakh tax-exempt under the new income tax regime. Those with income of up to Rs 7 lakh will now get a rebate and needn't pay any income tax under the new regime.
• The Economic Survey 2022-23 has projected a baseline GDP growth of 6.5 per cent in real terms in the next financial year.
