28th June, Current Affairs:

• The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has confirmed the launch date for its highly anticipated lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3. The rocket is slated to launch on July 13 at 2:30 pm local time.
• Indian-origin satellite industry expert Aarti Holla-Maini has been appointed as the Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) in Vienna.
• IIT Bombay has been ranked 1st in India and 149th in world in QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings.
• ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023’s is schedule from 5th October with a match between England and New Zealand at Ahmedabad. A total of 10 teams will participate in the world cup.

26th June, Current Affairs:

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred Egypt's highest state honour, 'Order of the Nile', by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. This is the 13th such highest state honour that various countries across the world have conferred upon PM Modi in the last nine years.
• Greece’s Conservative leader won the country’s national elections a clear majority, clinching a second term in the country.

24th June, Current Affairs:

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for Egypt from USA. This is Prime Minister’s first visit to Egypt.
• The Sahitya Akademi has announced a list of 22 recipients of its Bal Sahitya Puraskar and 20 winners of its Yuva Puraskar for this year. In the Hindi language category, Suryanath Singh won the Bal Sahitya Puraskar for his collection of short stories, ‘Kotuk App’.

23rd June, Current Affairs:

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a joint sitting of the US Congress. He became the first Indian prime minister to address US Congress twice.
• The flood situation in Assam worsened as nearly 1.20 lakh people in 20 districts have been affected by the deluge.
• President Droupadi Murmu presented the National Florence Nightingale Awards 2022 and 2023 to nurses at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The awards are a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to society. It was instituted in 1973 by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
• Olympian C. A. Bhavani Devi has created history by defeating reigning World Champion Misaki Emura in the Asian Fencing Championship quarterfinal and securing India its first-ever medal at the event.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi hold bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden at the White House in Washington DC today on the second day of his state visit to the United States.
• General Electric's aerospace arm announced today that it has teamed up with the state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited to make fighter jet engines for Indian Air Force in India.

21st June, Current Affairs:

• The International Day of Yoga is being celebrated across the globe today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the celebrations of International Day of Yoga at the United Nations Headquarters in New York today.
• The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has said, the number of refugees globally stood at 35.3 million by the end of 2022, an increase of more than eight million from the year before.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi left on a five-day visit to the United States and Egypt this Morning.
• India’s top shot putter, Tajinderpal Singh Toor has set a new Asian shot put record at the Inter-State Championships in Bhubaneswar. He shattered his own previous Asian record with a massive throw of 21.77 metres.
• The United Nations has adopted the first-ever treaty to protect marine life in the high seas. Delegates from the 193 member nations approved the treaty.

19th June, Current Affairs:

• The Gandhi Peace Prize for the year 2021 is being conferred on Gita Press, Gorakhpur. Gandhi Peace Prize is an annual award instituted by Government of India in 1995, on the occasion of 125th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The award carries an amount of Rs. 1 crore, a citation, a plaque and an exquisite traditional handicraft/handloom item.
• Indian men's senior football team clinched the Intercontinental Cup with a 2-0 victory over Lebanon in the final at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar.
• World Sickle Cell Awareness Day is observed today.

• Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty scripted history by becoming the first Indian doubles pair to win a title at a Badminton Super 1000 event in Jakarta. They defeated Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yika of Malaysia in straight games 21-17, 21-18.
• Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar confered upon the fourth National Water Awards in New Delhi. The Jal Shakti Ministry has announced a total of 41 winners, covering 11 categories. Madhya Pradesh will be awarded the first prize in the best state category.

• Egypt has retained the World Squash Championship. Egypt beat Malaysia 2-1 in the final in Chennai today.
• The G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting concluded today in Hyderabad.
• Indian men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty to advance to the final of the Indonesia Open World Tour Super 1000 event in Jakarta.

• Gujarat government has shifted 47,000 people from vulnerable areas to safer locations in view of the likely landfall of severe cyclonic storm Biparjoy in Kutch.
• The World Blood Donor Day is being observed today. The slogan for this year's World Blood Donor Day campaign is 'Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often'.
• In wrestling, India wrapped up their campaign in the U-17 Asian Wrestling Championships with one gold, three silver and three bronze medals on the final day in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the first-ever National Training Conclave at the International Exhibition and Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
• Indian long jumper Murali Sreeshankar secured a creditable third place in the Paris Diamond League with a jump of 8.09m, in his maiden podium finish in the prestigious one-day meeting series in Paris.
• Australia defeated India by 209 runs in the World Test Championship final at Oval, in England today. Thus Australia become the first team in Cricket history to win all four ICC titles.
• Novak Djokovic scripted history as he became the first man to win 23 Grand Slam titles in Open Era, following his triumph over Norwegian Casper Ruud in the French Open men's singles final. He defeated the fourth-seed Ruud 7-6 (7-1), 6-3, 7-5 at Court Philippe-Chatrier.

10th June, Current Affairs:

• Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) Girish Chandra Murmu has been re-elected as the External Auditor of the World Health Organization (WHO) for a renewed term from 2024 to 2027.
• Ravindra Jadeja scripted history on Friday by breaking Bishan Singh Bedi's long-standing record of being India's most successful left-arm spinner in Test cricket history. Jadeja has taken 268 wickets in 65 Tests for an economy rate of 2.45 and an average of 24.24. Bishan Singh Bedi, on the other hand, has 266 wickets from 67 games.
• In French Open Tennis, World No. 1 and top seed Iga Swiatek of Poland won the Women's Singles crown. She defended her title against unseeded Czech Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. This is her third French Open wins and becomes the first woman to defend the title in 16 years.

9th June, Current Affairs:

• The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the maiden pre-induction night launch of the new-generation ballistic missile ‘Agni Prime’.
• India has moved from 4th largest producer of crude steel to the second largest producer of crude steel from 2014-15 to 2022-23 standing just behind China which is the largest exporter of crude steel in the world.

6th June, Current Affairs:

• President Droupadi Murmu has been decorated with the highest civilian honour of Suriname – The Grand Order of the Chain of Yellow Star, in Paramaribo, the capital city of Suriname.
• AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic announces his retirement from football after they played season’s final game against Hellas Verona.

3rd June, Current Affairs:

• At least 288 people were killed and around 900 were injured in a horrific three-train collision in Odisha's Balasore, the country's deadliest rail accident in more than 20 years. The crash involved the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train.
• Indian-American Ajay Banga today took over as the president of the World Bank, making him the first person of colour to head either of the two global financial institutions, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

• At least 98 people lost their lives and 310 others were injured in the ethnic violence in Manipur that broke out a month ago.
• The Indian hockey team defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of the Men's Junior Asia Cup 2023 2-1 at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex Stadium in Salalah, Oman. With this title win, India become the most successful country in the history of the Men's Junior Asia Cup.
• Celeste Saulo of Argentina has been appointed as the first female Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
• India conducts successful training launch of Agni-1 ballistic missile APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.
