• ISRO successfully launch India's most powerful and home-made communications satellite GSAT-6A from Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. It will be able to send and receive signals from hand-held devices. It is expected to be particularly useful for security forces stationed in the remotest corners of the country.

28th March, Current Affairs:

• The Union Government extended by three months the deadline of March 31 for linking Aadhaar with welfare schemes.
• Australian Captain Steve Smith and Vice-captain David Warner have been banned for one year by Cricket Australia while Cameron Bancroft has been banned for nine months over their role in the ball-tampering scandal in the on-going Test Series with South Africa.

• The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile successfully flight tested from Rajasthan's Pokhran test range. The missile flies almost three times the speed of sound at Mach 2.8 and has a range of 290 km.
• Maldives President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom lifted a 45-day state of emergency from the country.

• Nine CRPF personnel were killed and two were injured in an ambush by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district.

• BJP ending the two-decade run of the CPM's Manik Sarkar as chief minister after BJP wins the Tripura Assembly election with 42 seats out of total 59.
• In Nagaland Assembly election, the BJP and its regional partner NDPP leading in 27 seats, while the NPF of Chief Minister TR Zeliang is leading in 26.
• In Meghalaya Assembly election, no party able to reach the majority mark in the state Assembly. Congress lead the election with 21 seats.
• Navjot Kaur becomes the first Indian women to win gold medal at Asian Wrestling Championship. She wins the gold medal at 65Kg freestyle wrestling category held at Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
