Rajasthan

Rajasthan is a state located in the north-western part of India. It is the largest state in the country in terms of area and the seventh most populous state. The capital and largest city of Rajasthan is Jaipur. The state has a rich cultural heritage and history, and is known for its vibrant culture, reflected in its music, art, literature, and festivals. Rajasthan is known for its historical significance, with several important historical sites such as the Amber Fort, the Jantar Mantar, the City Palace and the Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, the Jal Mahal in Jaipur and the Chittorgarh Fort.

The state's economy is primarily based on agriculture and tourism. Rajasthan is also known for its handicrafts, particularly its textiles, pottery, and blue pottery. The state is rich in minerals resources, particularly lead, zinc, and copper. Rajasthan is bordered by the Indian states of Punjab to the north, Haryana and Delhi to the northeast, Uttar Pradesh to the east, Madhya Pradesh to the southeast, and Gujarat to the southwest. The Aravalli Range runs through the state, and it is also home to the Thar Desert. The state has its own language known as Rajasthani and Hindi which is spoken by majority of its population.

Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Keoladeo Ghana NP, Ranthambore NP etc are among the most preferred tourist destinations in India. Chittorgarh Fort, Kumbhalgarh Fort, Ranthambore Fort, Gagron Fort, Amber Fort, Jaisalmer Fort and Amber Fort have recently been declared world heritage sites by UNESCO.

• Beas, Chambal, Banas, Luni are the main rivers in Rajasthan. Ghoomar dance, Kalbeliya dance etc are the main dance of Rajasthan.
