• China launched a spacecraft carrying
three astronauts, including its first civilian, to its Tiangong space
station. This is the country’s fifth manned mission to a fully functional
space station since 2021.
• Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clinched their
fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title. They secured a five-wicket victory
over the Gujarat Titans (GT).
• Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill won
the Orange Cap in IPL 2023 with 890 runs in 17 matches. Gujarat Titans
Mohammad Shami won the Purple Cap in IPL 2023.
• Recep Tayyip Erdogan
emerged as the winner in Turkey’s Presidential election, securing his rule
until 2028.
29th May, Current Affairs:
• ISRO’s GSLV f 12 rocket with NVS – 01
satellite was successfully launched from Sriharikota today. The satellite
weighing 2232 kilograms is the first of the second-generation satellites
envisaged for the Navigation with Indian Constellation series.
• India’s
ace shuttler HS Prannoy has clinched the Malaysia Masters badminton title.
He defeated Weng Hong Yang of China 21-19, 13-21, 21-18 in men’s singles
final in Kuala Lumpur.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi today
dedicated the newly constructed Parliament building to the Nation. The new
Parliament building has a built-up area of 65 thousand square metres. The
Lok Sabha hall has 888 seats and it is based on the peacock theme, the
National Bird. The Rajya Sabha will have a capacity of 384 seats and it is
based on a lotus theme, the National Flower. The Lok Sabha hall will be able
to accommodate 1,272 seats for joint sessions.

• Legendary American
musician Tina Turner, one of the most successful recording artists of all
time, passed away at the age of 83.
• India's AI supercomputer AIRAWAT has been ranked 75th in
the Top 500 Global Supercomputing List. The rankings were announced at the 61st edition of the
International Supercomputing Conference (ISC 2023) held in Germany.

• India is striving to eliminate
Tuberculosis from the country by 2025, five years ahead of the global
Sustainable Development Goal. This was stated by Union Health Minister Dr.
Mansukh Mandaviya.
• Former Karnataka DGP Praveen Sood took charge at the
new director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
24th May, Current Affairs:
• India and Australia sign Migration and
Mobility Partnership Agreement today. The agreement was exchanged during a
joint press briefing addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his
Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese in Sydney today.
• India for the
first time won two senior individual medals in women's skeet at
International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup stage in Almaty,
Kazakhstan. Ganemat Sekhon won silver which was her second-ever individual
world cup medal. In her first appearance at the senior level, Darshna
Rathore won bronze making it her a first-ever.
• Third Khelo India
University games started with the Kabaddi event today evening in Gautam Budh
Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
23rd May, Current Affairs:
• Delhi University alumnus Ishita Kishore
topped the latest edition of the civil services examination as women secured
the top four ranks. As many as 933 candidates - 613 men and 320 women - have
qualified for the civil services examination 2022.
• The 3rd G20 Tourism
Working Group meeting was formally inaugurated in Jammu and Kashmir.
• In
Italian Open final, Daniil Medvedev clinched his maiden claycourt title
after beating Holger Rune. In the men's singles final, the Russian beat the
Danish player 7-5, 7-5.
• Neeraj Chopra becomes World Number one in
men's javelin throw rankings. Chopra was leading the ranking with 1455
points, 22 ahead of Grena'a's Anderson Peters.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived
at G7 Summit venue to attend the Summit in Hiroshima, Japan.
• Congress
Legislative Party leader Siddaramaiah will be sworn in as Chief Minister of
Karnataka for the second term today, along with the Karnataka Congress
president D K Shivakumar as the Deputy Chief Minister.
19th May, Current Affairs:
• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today
announced that ₹ 2,000 currency notes are being withdrawn from circulation.
It asked people to exchange them at banks by September 30.
• Prime
Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Japan to attend the G7 summit in
Hiroshima from May 19-21.

• Minister of State for Parliamentary
Affairs and Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal has been assigned the independent
charge as Minister of State in the Ministry of Law and Justice in addition
to his existing portfolios. Mr Meghwal will replace Union Minister Kiren
Rijiju. Mr Rijiju who was serving as Law and Justice Minister will now hold
the portfolio of Ministry of Earth Sciences.
• Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel
has been assigned as Minister of State in the Health and Family Welfare
Ministry. Prof. Baghel was serving as Minister of State in the Law and
Justice Ministry.
• Congress leader Siddaramaiah will be the next Chief
Minister of Karnataka. Karnataka Congress President D K Shivakumar will
serve as the only deputy Chief Minister of the state.

Elections. As per the latest data from Election Commission of India,
Congress has won 125 seats out of a total 224 Assembly seats, and is leading
in 11 constituencies.

confirmed by the US Senate as the Ambassador at Large for Global Women's
Issues in the State Department.
• Indian boxers Mohammad Hussamudin,
Deepak Kumar, and Nishant Dev had to settle for bronze medal at the IBA
Men’s World Boxing Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

observed across the globe today. This year the theme for International

• National Technology Day is observed today
in India.
• Indian boxers have ensured three medals at the World Boxing
Championships for the first time as they advanced to the semifinals in
Tashkent. India created history when Deepak Bhoria at 51kg, Mohammed
Hussamuddin at 57kg, and Nishant Dev at 71kg emerged victorious in their
respective quarterfinal bouts.

• Lithium reserves were discovered on
Revant hill in Degana in Rajasthan's Nagaur district during a survey
conducted by the Geological Survey of India (GSI). It is believed that these
reserves can meet 80% of the country's demand.
