Union Territories in India are areas with unique political and administrative arrangements, which are governed directly by the Indian federal government. They are separate from the states of India and do not have their own government or separate constitution.
Each Union Territory has a Lieutenant Governor appointed by the President of India, who serves as the head of the territory and is responsible for its administration.
