• Ladakh became a Union Territory Of India on 31st of October 2019.

• Ladakh shared its border with Tibet Autonomous Region in east, Himachal Pradesh to the south and both Jammu and Kashmir and the Pakistan-administered Gilgit-Baltistan to the west.

• The largest town in Ladakh is Leh, followed by Kargil.

• Ladakh is the only place in India where twin humped camels are found.

• The Khardung La Pass in Ladakh which is at an elevation of 5,359 meters is claimed to be the highest motorable road in the world.

• The Indian Astronomical Observatory (IAO), located in Hanle near Leh in Ladakh, is one of the world's highest located sites for optical, infrared and gamma-ray telescopes.
