Assistant Development Officer (ADO) Exams
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is one of
oldest and premier Insurance group in India. It is an Indian state-owned
insurance group. The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) conducts
online examination for the Apprentice Development Officers (ADO) post
whenever vacancies are there. It is a 2 hours online objective exam which is
followed by an Interview and medical examination before final appointment
for qualified candidates. It is primarily a sales supervision job. The
selected candidates are required to recruit agents, train them properly, and
help the recruited agents to sell life insurance to maximum number of
persons. They are also required to give prompt response after sales service
to policyholders. For this purpose considerable movements including tours
covering the entire area allotted to them are involved.
Before joining as Apprentice Development Officer,
candidates will be required to give an undertaking to serve the Corporation
for a minimum period of four years from the date of joining (including
apprenticeship period) failing which he/she or his/her heirs, executors,
administrators will be liable to pay liquidated damages of Rs. 25,000
(Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) to the Corporation. An Apprentice
Development Officer will have to undergo Theoretical & Field Sales Training
and on successful completion of apprenticeship and if found suitable for
appointment to the service of the Corporation in accordance with the rules
may be appointed as a Development Officer on probation subject to conditions
framed by the Corporation.
Eligibility Conditions:
For the Post of Apprentice Development Officers (ADO),
a candidate age should not be less than 21 years and not more than 30 years
at the time of application. There is a relaxation of upper age limit for
other categories as below:

Educational Qualification:
A candidate must have minimum a bachelor degree from
any recognized Indian University or Institution. Preference
would be
given to
candidates who
have at
least 2 years’ experience
in life insurance industry.
For LIC Employees, the experience should not be less
than 3 years of service after confirmation in Class III post.
For LIC Agents, the experience should not less
than 5 years as an
agent and has
brought a
net First
Year Premium Income
of not
less than Rs.5,00,000/-
during the immediately
preceding 5 agency years
and a net First Year Premium Income
of not
less than
Rs. 1,00,000/- on 50 lives in each of any 3 of these agency years.
How to Apply
Candidates have to apply online only through the LIC
official website under the heading “Careers”. No other modes of application
are accepted.
Application Fees:
All payments are made on online basis only. Candidates
will have to make the payment of Application Fees/Intimation Charges through
the On-Line Mode.
Selection Procedure:
For ADO Post, selection are be made on the basis of
performance in the on-line Examination followed by a personal interview of
short listed candidates and subsequent Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination.
Online examination is conducted in selected exam centres throughout India.
Candidates have to select their exam center at the time of application.
On-line Examination:
The On-line examination is of objective type which
consists of 150 questions for 150 total marks. Candidates have total time of
120 minutes (2 hrs) duration to complete the examination.

Also candidates must pass in each Section separately
and should also obtain minimum marks in the aggregate to qualify for the
interview.
LIC also conduct pre-exam training for OBC/SC/ST
candidates. The training is free of cost but the other expenses like
travelling, accommodation if required etc. will have to pay by themselves.
Interview:
About three times the number of vacancies to be filled
in subject to availability of successful candidates in the online
examination is invited for the interview. Candidates will have to obtain the
minimum qualifying marks in the interview as will be decided by LIC.
Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination:
Final candidates are selected on the basis of marks
obtained in online examination and Interview. Shortlisted candidates will
have to undergo a Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination and if found medically
fit, will be offered appointment for the post of ADO. For more information,
