New India Assurance Company's Administrator Exam

The New India Assurance Company Ltd., a leading Public Sector General Insurance Company, conducts the exam for the post of Officers (Generalist & Specialists) in Scale I cadre from open market. The New India Assurance Company limited (NIACL) is a Mumbai Based organization. It is one of the five assurance companies which is owns by Government of India. Work profile of AO involves Claim settlements, Underwriting, Risk Assessment and Supervision of Assistants work. It also involves verification of risk proposals and authorization of claims. The selection process for NIACL Administrative post consists of three phase exams. The Phase I and Phase II exam is online mode and conducted on selected exam centres across India.

Eligibility:

Nationality:
A candidate applying for recruitment in the NIACL Administrative post must be either-
(a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification:

For the post of Generalists, a candidate must possess the minimum qualification of a graduate/post graduate in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination for General candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
For the post of Specialists:
Company Secretary: A candidate should be ACS/FCS from ICSI and Graduation/Post-graduation in any discipline with min 60% marks.
Legal: Candidate should be Graduate/Post-graduate in Law with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).
Finance & Accounts : Candidate should be Chartered Accountant (ICAI) and Graduation/Post-graduation in any discipline with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) Or Cost and Management Accountant (The Institute of Cost Accountants of India, earlier known as ICWAI) and Graduation/Post-graduation in any discipline with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) Or MBA Finance/PGDM FINANCE* with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) Or M.COM with min 60% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD).

Age:

Age of the candidate for NIACL Administrative post should not be less than 21 years and should not be age more than 30 years. For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe age relaxation will be 5 years. Similarly for other categories also relaxation is provided as per Govt norms.

How to Apply:

Interested candidates for NIACL Administrative post have to apply online for the exam. They have to go to the Recruitment Section of Company’s website http://newindia.co.in and click on the option "APPLY ONLINE" which will open a new screen. Exam fees also need to pay online. The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.

Selection Procedure:

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This would consist of 3 sections as follows:

Candidates have to qualify in each test/section by securing passing marks to be decided by the Company. Approximately 15 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability are be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Phase – II: Main Examination
Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer.

(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing-10marks & Essay-20 marks).
Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score for each section of objective test separately for short listing for the Descriptive test evaluation/Interview. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum total score in the objective test (main examination) and qualify in the descriptive test for short listing for the Interview.
A candidate shall be required to qualify in the descriptive test, but the marks in the descriptive test will not be counted towards short listing for interview or final selection.
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests.

Phase – III: Interview
Candidates who have been shortlisted at the end of Phase-II will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Company.
Final selection for NIACL Administrative post would be based on consolidated marks of main examination (objective test) & Interview.
