(b) Rs. 950
(c) Rs. 1000
(d) Rs. 1100
Answer: (c) Rs. 1000
Let, the no. of 100 rupee notes be x
∴ No of 50 rupee notes be 70 - x
A/Q 100 X x + 50 (70 - x) = 4000
⇒ 2x + 70 - x = 4000/50 = 80
⇒ x = 80 - 70 = 10
∴ Value of 100 rupee notes be Rs. 10 X 100 = Rs. 1000
Q52.
If 3x - 5y = 5 and | x | = | 5 | then (x+y) = ? |
x + y | 7 |
(a) 7
(b) 9
(c) 11
(d) 12
Answer: (a) 7
x | = | 5 |
x + y | 7 |
⇒ 7x = 5x + 5y
⇒ 2x - 5y = 0 ------- (1)
And 3x - 5y = 5 ------ (2)
(2) - (1) ⇒ x = 5
(1) ⇒ 2 X 5 - 5y = 0
⇒ -5y = -10
⇒ y = 2
Now x + y = 5 + 2 = 7
