• India’s tiger population is estimated to
be 3 thousand 925 with an annual growth rate of 6.1%per annum. This was
revealed in a report released by Minister of State for Environment, Forest
and Climate Change Ashwini Kumar on the occasion of Global Tiger Day.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) 's PSLV-C56 rocket
successfully launched the Singapore's DS-SAR satellite and six co-passenger
payloads from the first launch-pad of SDSC-SHAR in Sriharikota.
• The
Indian team of Aman Saini and Pragati today clinched gold in the mixed team
compound archery event at the FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China.

• The Lok Sabha today passed the National
Nursing and Midwifery Commission Bill, 2023. The Bill seeks to provide for
regulation and maintenance of standards of education and services by nursing
and midwifery professionals.
• India finished 2nd on the medals tally at
the recently concluded ISSF Junior Shooting World Championships 2023 in
Changwon, South Korea. Indian shooters bagged 17 medals, which include 6
Gold, 6 Silver, and 5 Bronze.

• The Indian Space Research Organisation
(ISRO) on Tuesday once again successfully completed the orbit-changing
process (Earthbound-firing-2) and sent Chandrayaan-3 to Earth’s fifth and
last orbit. ISRO will now send Chandrayaan-3 to the Moon’s orbit between 12
a.m. and midnight on August 1.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated
the International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (IECC) complex to the
nation at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi today.

puts India's passport at the 80th spot, moving it up five places from its
position in 2022. Indians can now travel to 57 destinations without a visa.
Singapore has replaced Japan with having the world's most powerful passport,
allowing visa-free entry to 192 global destinations.
• The biggest FIFA
Women's Football World Cup kicked off in New Zealand and Australia today. In

today.

• The newly built International Diamond
Bourse in Gujarat's Surat has taken the title of the world's largest office
building, surpassing the Pentagon. Surat is renowned as the gem capital of
the world, where over 90 percent of the world's diamonds are cut.

Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the integrated terminal building of
Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair through video conferencing.
• Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has passed away. He was 79. Chandy was
the Chief Minister of Kerala twice.

multidimensional poverty in the country has fallen from 24.85 percent to
14.96 percent between 2015-16 and 2019-21. This was unveiled in the National

• India's Chandrayaan-3 lifted off from
Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The mission will make India the fourth
country to achieve a controlled landing on the moon, after Russia, the
United States, and China. The spacecraft will complete the 3,84,000
kilometers-long journey in nearly 45 days to attempt a soft-landing on the
Moon by end of August.
• Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with French
President Emmanuel Macron today witnessed the Bastille Day Parade in Paris.
Mr. Modi attended the parade as the Guest of Honour.
• Yashasvi Jaiswal
has become the 17th India batter to score a century on Test debut, and the
first to do so outside Asia in more than 21 years.

• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
inaugurated Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) regional office in Kuala

• India and Bangladesh have started bilateral trade in
rupees. It was launched at an event jointly organised by Bangladesh Bank and
High Commission of India in Dhaka today.
• United Nations has said that
India has registered remarkable reduction in poverty with 41.5 crore people
coming out of it in just 15 years. The UN said, 25 countries, including
India, successfully halved their global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI)
values within 15 years.
• Today is World Population Day. The objective of
the day is to increase the awareness of the people towards the worldwide
population issues. The theme for World Population Day 2023 is 'Unleashing

time to clinch their ninth SAFF Championship title.

• The world’s oldest national newspaper,
Vienna-based Wiener Zeitung, ended its daily print edition after 320 years.
The newspaper began publishing in 1703.
• India becomes the
second-largest country with the biggest road network after beating China.
While the United States remains in the number one position. The report says
India successfully reserved the position by spreading 1.45-lakh km of road
connectivity over the last 8 years.
• Nationalist Congress Party's Ajit
Pawar, along with eight party leaders, joined the Maharashtra government
today. Mr Pawar will share the Deputy Chief Minister post with BJP's
Devendra Fadnavis.

• The Prime Minister inaugurated the 17th

• The boards of
directors of Housing Development Finance Corp Ltd (HDFC) and HDFC Bank
approved the merger between the two institutions effective from 1st July,
2023 creating the world's fourth biggest bank by market value behind J P
Morgan, ICBC and Bank of America.
• Olympic Champion Neeraj Chopra won
the Lausanne Diamond League event with an 87.66m throw. Chopra beat his
closest competitors - Germany's Julian Weber and Czech Republic's Jakub
Vadlejch by narrow margin. This was Chopra's second Lausanne Diamond League
win in two years.
• As many as 26 people died and several others were
injured after a bus caught fire on the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway in
Maharashtra. The bus was travelling from Yavatmal to Pune.
